The new building of the Riga Art and Media Technical School is now put into operation

On February 10, the State Construction Control Bureau approved the new multifunctional study building of the Riga Art and Media Technical School in Riga.

The new building is a three-storey monolithic reinforced concrete building with a total construction area of 1,574 square meters. The roof is made of floor panels and steel structures. The facade is covered with a ventilated facade with a finish of 1,383 square meters of black-painted wooden elements. The monochrome aesthetics of the façade refers to the characteristic elements of the film industry, including the well-known scene and take "clapperboard".

The new building with cutting-edge equipped premises is especially suitable for a new learning experience. One of the most valuable benefits is a large-scale educational filming studio that complies with the "black box" principles with a functional, easily transformable space. The large room measures 21 x 20 meters and reaches a height of 9 meters. The premises can be functionally adapted so that several events can take place at the same time - both the episodic filming and the daily learning process. In the construction of the filming pavilion, special attention is paid to acoustics. In order to meet the hight quality requirements, acoustic consultant Jānis Tālbergs was engaged and high-quality acoustic materials and technologies were used. The hall's acoustics and sound insulation solutions will allow it to be used for various filming events and recordings.

Next to the studio, there are three study rooms, a photo studio, sound and video directing rooms, auxiliary rooms, changing rooms and make-up rooms. The ground floor lobby is wide open to the new pedestrian street. The landscaped area connects the new building with the existing buildings of the technical school and forms a place for students to gather.
