The Riga Central Railway Station in the “Rail Baltica” project is designed at 20%

At present, nearly 20% of the design work is carried out. General Partnership BERERIX has concluded the works on topographic research and surveying of the territories, tracks, underground premises and other infrastructure. The company's team has started geotechnical research works, including the exploration of the riverbed of Daugava River for the construction of future bridge supports. The design work continues including consultations with all the stakeholders to identify their needs and requirements in the project as well as evaluate and integrate them into technical solutions. All the works are conducted within the framework of the research and design of basic construction solutions.

“Our team is working very intensively so that the designing goes smoothly and within the expected time limits. We have built up a strong team of international and local professionals who were carefully selected early in the project; they are aware of all of the project requirements and the experts have excellent knowledge, each in their specific field. The Project Management Team is experienced and has implemented huge design and build projects all over the world. We are fully confident that we will implement the project in time, also thanks to the constructive and professional cooperation with the client's team (LLC “Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas”) and other stakeholders who are interested in the successful development of this historical project,” comments Nic De Roeck, BESIX International regional manager – Europe, Chairman of the Supervisory Council of General Partnership BERERIX.

In February 2020, BERERIX plans to conclude 30-35% of the design work and complete construction specifications. Design and project coordination will continue until spring 2021. The first preparatory and dismantling works as well as individual construction works are planned to be launched in the third quarter of the year 2020.
