Sigulda New Castle is a significant monument of Latvian cultural history; therefore, specific requirements for castle reconstruction and change of functions are determined in the construction design of the building in order to preserve the building, which is considered an example of both Neo-Gothic style architecture and national building interior. Currently, the bearing structures of the building in some places are in pre-emergency condition, so extensive reconstruction works are required, explains the municipality.
